Full-time Faculty Position in the Dept. of Applied Foreign Languages
National Taiwan University of Science and Technology
Qualifications:
- Ph.D., or Assistant Professor or above
- Area of expertise in translation and interpretation, linguistics, or English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
Working Experience:
- As required by the Ministry of Education, candidates should have at least 1 year of working experience (before or after graduate studies) in industry or industry-academia projects, but not in universities and schools.
- This rule does not apply to those who obtained their Taiwan teachers’ license before Jan 14th, 2015.
- If employed by NTUST, applicants without working experience will be hired as a full-time project-based faculty member.
Job Responsibilities:
Full-time faculty members are required to:
- Teach language training, core, and elective courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs (including the evening MA program).
- Develop interdisciplinary ESP courses
- Serve on various department and university committees and collaborate with colleagues on administrative work and research projects.

- Cover letter, Curriculum Vitae (CV), official transcripts and photocopies of diplomas, and two letters of recommendation
- Publication list (lists of the MOST/MOE/Industry-academia projects, journal articles in SSCI or international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters...etc.)
- Photocopies of representative research work within the most recent 5 years
- Syllabus and student evaluations from sample courses taught within the most recent 3 years
- Other teaching or research materials (preferably videos of teaching/interpreting/translating experience in links or DVDs)
