Introduction of Program of Digital Innovation in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Graduate Program)

This program aims to cultivate cross-disciplinary digital English teaching specialists. By integrating the resources of the Graduate Institute of Digital Learning and Education (GIDLE) and the Department of Applied Foreign Languages (DAFL), it is designed to help students develop creativity and innovation in digital English language teaching and enhance their competitiveness in the workplace. GIDLE and DAFL offer 12 courses that support the program, for a total of 36 credits. The program combines digital technologies with English teaching so as to (1) use digital multimedia technologies to enrich English teaching content; and (2) apply English teaching theories and strategies to elevate digital learning and English proficiency.

 

Study Regualtions for Program of Digital Innovation in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Graduate Program)

 

1. Qualification: Graduate students of Taiwan Tech and the NTU System.

2. Number of students: No limit. (Please note that the number of students in each course is limited.)

3. Application for the certificate: Students who complete the required credits should submit their transcripts and the application form to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences office.

4. Required credits: The required minimum credits are 18, of which 9 credits (3 courses) must be from the Graduate Institute of Digital Learning and Education (GIDLE) and 9 credits (3 courses) from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages (DAFL). And, at least one core course must be included in the 3 courses.

5. Course Titles and Credits: Please refer to the curriculum table below.

6. Students should select the required courses during the announced drop-add period of each semester.

7. Credits earned from the program can be counted toward the total number of credits required for graduation by each department or institute and will be included in the maximum number of credits allowed per semester.

8. Once students complete the required credits with satisfactory grades and their applications are reviewed and passed by the Curriculum Committee of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, a certificate of successful completion of the program will be issued by the College.

9. Students from other universities who would like to apply for this program, please refer to the most recent information on Taiwan Tech’s website.

10. Matters not covered by the program shall be handled in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of Taiwan Tech.

11. These regulations will take effect upon passage by the Academic Affairs Meeting and approval by the university president of Taiwan Tech. The same shall apply to any amendment thereto.
